Bucky Montero has been a passionate force in the Barrio Logan community since 2012, creating and cultivating art spaces throughout the neighborhood. With a diverse background in building alternative spaces—from a coffee shop to occupying an abandoned bike shop for a gallery to the first community radio station in Barrio Logan —Bucky has continuously pushed the boundaries of how art can be shared and experienced. In addition to co-founding the experimental gallery Mi Vida Logan and serving as Chair of Barrio Art Crawl (2022-2024), Bucky is now leading SUBCULTURA Curation. With her extensive experience and deep connection to San Diego’s creative landscape, Bucky is developing The Rolodex Project as a testament to the current art scene in the city. Her vision is to create a platform where local artists can thrive, collaborate, and expand their reach, ensuring that San Diego’s artistic community continues to flourish.
