Meet The Team

Bucky Montero
Bucky Montero has been a passionate force in the Barrio Logan community since 2012, creating and cultivating art spaces throughout the neighborhood. With a diverse background in building alternative spaces—from a coffee shop to occupying an abandoned bike shop for a gallery to the first community radio station in Barrio Logan —Bucky has continuously pushed the boundaries of how art can be shared and experienced. In addition to co-founding the experimental gallery Mi Vida Logan and serving as Chair of Barrio Art Crawl (2022-2024), Bucky is now leading SUBCULTURA Curation. With her extensive experience and deep connection to San Diego’s creative landscape, Bucky is developing The Rolodex Project as a testament to the current art scene in the city. Her vision is to create a platform where local artists can thrive, collaborate, and expand their reach, ensuring that San Diego’s artistic community continues to flourish.

Irma Patricia Cruz
Irma Patricia Cruz is a contributor to The Rolodex Project, bringing nearly 20 years of experience and a pivotal role in shaping the local San Diego art scene. With extensive expertise in Public Art through her former employment with San Diego Museum of Art and as the co-owner, activist, and spiritual healer at Aztlan Libre Galeria Mestizaje—a multipurpose space she runs with her husband Lucas Cruz—Patricia has been a key figure in both the local and broader artistic community. Aztlan Libre also serves as an archive center (Aztlan Archives) for documenting Chicano history in San Diego and throughout Aztlan, preserving the cultural legacy of our communities. Irma Patricia has curated art shows, workshops, public art, and youth programs, and as a Chicana artist and certified End of life doula, she brings a unique perspective and depth of experience. Her strategic planning and vision will provide the structure The Rolodex Project needs. Through data collection and her expertise, she will help assess the local impact of the project, ensuring it resonates and thrives within the San Diego art community.
Stephanie Ruiz
Stephanie Ruiz is the Web Developer for The Rolodex Project, where she leads the design and development of the platform’s artist directory. A creative force rooted in the borderlands of Tijuana and San Diego, Stephanie brings a rare blend of technical expertise and cultural fluency to the project. Outside the world of code and design, Stephanie is also known as DJ Dolorosa, a binational DJ who has become a staple in the local music scene. Through her carefully curated sets—often spanning genres like experimental electronic, reggaetón, and underground Latin sounds—she creates spaces of joy, resistance, and connection on both sides of the border. A self-taught graphic designer and developer, Stephanie uses her wide-ranging skillset to build creative infrastructure that is both beautiful and functional.
